We've spent the last few months thinking about how to bring more to our wonderful customers. In addition to expanding the Kit+Un product range (something new is coming!), we've also decided to bring our sister brand, HelloBao, into our Kit+Un family. This is just the start! We are constantly on the lookout for that one-of-a-kind product so you can bet that we'll be keeping our eyes peeled for new and amazing items for our store.

So, who's HelloBao?
The HelloBao range was developed by one half of the Kit+Un crew, a mum who wanted to bring meaningful play into homes. Combining her background in Montessori education as well as her love for Mandarin, Victoria developed a range of Mandarin sensory cards to introduce the language to children through touch! Inspired by her children, Victoria wanted them to grow up enjoying their Mandarin education, to encourage their love for the language.
Rooted in Montessori philosophy, HelloBao materials celebrate the learning process and encourages curiosity about the world we live in. HelloBao’s 华文好好玩 Mandarin sensory cards series offers young learners 2 levels of tactile cards to help build a strong foundation in Mandarin. The inspiration for these cards come from the Montessori Method of teaching English to children. In the English curriculum, children are introduced to the language through the use of sandpaper letter cards – created from letters cut out of sandpaper and mounted onto separate pieces of wood.
Drawing on the Montessori Method of using realistic representation, the painted character cards in this pack contain hand-painted watercolour illustrations by a Singaporean artist, representing each character in a realistic way. We hope that this enables children to better relate to the images, associate them with their environment and develop an appreciation for the natural beauty around them.
Designed with young learners in mind, these cards are a fun, meaningful and engaging way for children to learn this rich and beautiful language. Our goal is not only to develop materials that better cater to our little ones' thirst for knowledge but to also equip fellow parents with easy-to-use tools to engage and support their child.
